COPE Canarias broadcast a special edition of its morning programme from Vitoria-Gasteiz on 16 June. The programme was aired from the Hotel Kora Green City and featured the participation of leading tourism and institutional representatives from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava and the Basque Country.
To mark the new Binter air service between Vitoria-Gasteiz and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, operating from 15 June until 28 September, guests introduced Canary Islands listeners to the main tourism assets of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava and the Basque Country, highlighting their historical and cultural heritage, natural attractions, gastronomy, wine tourism and the wide range of experiences available throughout the territory.
Participants included Clara Navas, Director of Tourism of the Basque Government; Jonay Lobo, Binter’s Director of Scheduling, Revenue Management and Partnerships; as well as representatives from Valle Salado de Añana, Marqués de Riscal, the Santa María Cathedral Foundation, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival and Ataria, the Environmental Studies Centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The initiative helped bring the tourism offer of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava and the Basque Country closer to thousands of Canary Islands listeners, contributing to greater awareness of the destination and encouraging tourism flows between the two territories through the existing air connectivity.
